Driven by a profound respect for sacred traditions, Patrice has dedicated herself to capturing these disappearing cultures through her art.  Patrice Le Pera is a Listed Portrait Artist known for vivid re-creation of the historic sacred and cultural traditions of Native American tribes. The painting’s historical significance, coupled with Le Pera’s esteemed reputation and the rarity of her work, underscores its substantial value. Her work aims to immortalize these traditions and beliefs, recognizing the power of imagery to shape societal attitudes and preserve cultural heritage.

 

Born in the USA Military Hospital in Yokohama of a Military Family, Patrice speaks German, French, Italian, and studied Mandarin for 2 years.  Most people hear the accent of Patrice’s Scottish Nanny.  Moving from Japan to California, and having worked her way through a BA on her own with two jobs; Patrice moved to Germany, where she studied International Contract Law for 2 years.  Patrice's global experience in negotiating Government Contracts for German Tillyard BKP and DAEWOO (Korean) Construction projects, and on-time completion of the German Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan; has deepened her appreciation for diverse cultures. With a diverse background, Patrice has illustrated children's books in collaboration with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, her contributions extend to designing educational materials, such as the 372 illustrations for the MPTN Tribal dictionary to support their language preservation efforts.  Patrice began painting Portraits of Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Members, re-creating historic and cultural events, and significant elements of their Spirituality.  Patrice paints in Holbein Oil on Stretched Professional Canvas, and collects and restores the Museum Frames through Antique Auctions. The weathering on the Antique Frames suits the historic context of the painting.  Patrice uses thousands of photographs taken with permission, and interviews and studies with the Tribal Elders and Educators.
